Being a yoga teacher and passionate about the practice, I feel it’s really important to pass on what you know, and not just create an endless reliability on a teacher. My yoga classes always consist of explanation, sanskrit and what the pose names mean, sequencing. Every class is an interactive session of mind and body. My class isn’t the practice, my class is learning how to practice. I give my students a home practice, that they can take with them and keep forever!
I bring that to my clients as well. Sure, I can make web updates and tweets for them, but in the long run, if they understand how to do these themselves, they don’t rely on me for their marketing communications, they just use me as a tool and a reference for creating a beautiful, successful strategy!
Now I’m not saying that a business owner needs to do everything his/herself, but in the long run, relationships are built on the company’s true voice, not some slick marketing campaign. The owner just needs assistance tapping into what that voice is, and how to stay authentic to it in every message he/she sends.
That’s where I come in! My retreats are created so that you, as the business owner, can access your business’s authentic personality. I create the space for you to do this – 7 days away from the office, in a retreat setting, so you can first relax, then focus…indulging in this project without distractions. I give you the workbook, to ask the questions. This is what will guide you to find that authentic voice, and really create all of your business’s identity around that. And finally I will provide training, so you can take this practice home with you, and keep it forever.
This isn’t just more information to add to the clutter in your brain! This is using what you have, going deep, and finding the magic that’s already there. And then you get to write it all off on your taxes!

Hosted by Maria Radloff (Via Maria) and Troy Henson (BeCoaching), this retreat will offer a day or building your marketing strategy and a day of creating your business plan, with goal setting.
The purpose of this retreat is to help entrepreneurs and self-employed to find the time, in a relaxing retreat setting, to focus solely on his/her business, without being interrupted by the chaos of the normal work day. Rarely is there time for such intense reflection and creation, that usually businesses suffer from burn-out, inability to change, lack of direction and unawareness of the marketplace.
This retreat is for entrepreneurs who have their own business. If you provide a service, such as healing, arts, nutrition, professional services, etc., this retreat is for you! DAY 1
Day 1 will be a day of corporate profiling and marketing with Maria. This is the day to get creative with words, images and concepts. We will create the personality of your organization and string that essence through all of your marketing materials and communications. Things you will create or analyze will be:
- logo and tagline, color palette, stock imagery
- mission statement
- description of company and list of services/products
- elevator speech
- company personality
- company niche, target market
- social media plan
- and more!
You will leave the day knowing just what to say when somebody asks what you’re business is. When you understand who you business is, it will be easier to communicate that to others, and your passion will shine through.
DAY 2
Day 2 will be a day of creative strategizing and goal setting with Troy. You will leave with your list of goals and actions to realize them. You will also leave with a little business plan, that can be expanded throughout the year. Things you will reflect on will be:
- creating a crystal clear vision for the future success of your business
- the specific business development projects you will complete in 2012
- creating a priority list and timeline for getting projects done
- creating a competitive edge
- designing your business your way
- identifying the business growth strategies that work for you
- identify who is your competition
- list what makes your business stand out
- decide if you are working too hard and not getting the right results, and how to change it if you are!
- figure out how can you make the best use of your hours
Each day will contain 2-hours of lectures and 3-hours of workbook time. The workbook time is when you can brainstorm, write down your ideas and create your plans for the upcoming year. Maria and Troy will be available during this time for questions and help. This is a great time to share ideas, ask for different opions, and really open up to some new ideas. This could be a time of great breakthrough on your business!
